Longtime NACA Member Retires

Ed Polk, a longtime member of the National Association of Chamber Ambassadors, officially retired on October 16, 2009 after 30 years.
Ed's first grandchild, a boy, was born in mid-September, and he and his wife plan to stay very busy with him! Although they plan to remain in Enid, Oklahoma, where they currently live, they will no longer be active in any of the chamber or ambassador events.
The Polks also plan to do some travelling, and are looking forward to visiting the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore, among other locations.
Good luck Ed, and thanks for all the hard work you have put in over the years. Enjoy that grandson!

Get Connected at the 2010 NACA Conference in Carlsbad

Plans are well underway for the National Association of Chamber Ambassadors Conference XXIV in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Board members attended the mid-year board meeting in Carlsbad in October and viewed the venue for this exciting conference!
Much of the conference will be held at the Pecos River Village Conference Center - a beautiful location that sits right on the Pecos River. And part of the conference will be held underground in Carlsbad Caverns!

Spelunkers may want to come early or plan to stay an extra day, as ranger-guided tours of the newest sections of Carlsbad Caverns are available. But for those who don't want or can't do a lot of walking, an elevator is available.

The Pecos River Village Conference Center sets directly next to the beautiful Pecos River

Another beautiful location that will be included in the conference schedule will be the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens. This is unlike any "zoo" you've ever seen! This unique park allows visitors to learn about the plants & animals that inhabit the Southwest, and include 1.3 miles of paved pathway.
NACA board members enjoyed
a ride on the  Pecos River while
in Carlsbad for the board meeting.
The registration brochures are being
prepared now and will soon be in
your mailbox. Please mark your
calendar now to attend the
2010 Conference on April 22-24 in Carlsbad!

Are You Receiving E-mail Announcements from the NACA?

The NACA likes to send information and announcements to you in the fastest way possible. These are never solicitations, and we do not share our email list with any non-members. However, we do send out emails about a new issue of the newsletter being available, conference updates or registration information, and opportunities from the U.S. Chamber to participate in conference calls on important events.
Every time we do an e-mail blast to our membership, many email addresses come back to us. If the reason for the return is simply that your mailbox is full or your server is down, we leave your address on the list. If the reason for the return is "user unknown" or "user not at this address" or if your server tells us the email is not allowed by your configuration, we delete your email address from our blast list.
If you want to get the most current announcements via email, and you haven't been receiving anything, please let us know so we can put a working email address on our list! If you receive emails on a system that separates junk mail, please be sure to mark any mail coming from the NACA to go into your inbox!
